Human Biology: BIOL 1090

Human Biology, the study of life in humans or perhaps more accurately described as what makes humans live.

I chose this class to fulfill my Biological Science requirement for two reasons.  First, it was one of the only ones which did not have a lab associated with it. And second, as a senior in high school I took Medical Assisting which included anatomy and some other basics of Human Biology as they related to the medical field leading me to believe that I would have an easier time in this course.

Throughout the year I will let you know how these assumptions are playing out and will also be posting some of my work and reflections on that work.

 Reflection:

This course has not been entirely what I expected it to be though it has contained many parts of what I expected.  Thus far this course has presented some ideas in ways that has made me think differently about things such as race or how I view and research articles in the news or advertisements.  In all it has helped me to develop better critical thinking.

To the right is a link to a paper I wrote for this class in response to the prompt of "Can an Overemphasis on Eating Healthy Become Unhealthy?"  In this paper I think about two sides critically and use what I have learned from this class and others to come to my own conclusion.
